Sending requests to friends

I would love to see a more straightforward way to send requests/lives to friends. I would like to be able to send lives to friends without having to wait for them to send me coins - I would rather be able to send a life to each friend, each day, similar to sending free gifts in FV2.

I know I have several friends playing right now, but I don't get hardly any requests for lives. Maybe they're much better players than me and don't need as many lives?
