@Ngurah47 @Shelley_S my understandings is that your bubble is greyed out, and to my experience you do need t have an inter;et connection.
If you look at mine I have 3 on my bubble and it’s not greyed it, meaning I am connected and I can use chat. Try force closing and check your internet connection !
