Hello Everyone ... Here is how to tell what you're going to get by sending you're helpers to the various locations on you Island.
This example is for the shipwreck, using the max 5 helpers. I've been sending max helpers to both there and to the Cliffs, to get what is needed for the current Valentines event.
Easy way to see what you're 100 percent for sure going to get is to load your helpers (one by one) into where you want them. Then look to the right to see if what you want has a full green circle around them. If it's 100 percent fully green, it means you're going to get it 100 percent of the time.
If it's not fully green, then how much and what color the circle is, tells you what kind of percentage that you have of getting that item.
I find sending the max helpers tends to get what I want the most often, but sometimes you can send less. Just pay attention to those circles to the right as to how full the circle is, and what color the circle is.
BTW, it works the same way in FV2CE as well.

I was only saying last night that I send 4 into the cave No Rose Gold been struggling with Rose Gold from cave, 2 guides left so been sending them to Coral Reef,

This only works with sky cliffs. Not with the hot springs or the coral reef. Each time sending maximum people you can get the minimum or maximum. There is no rhyme or reason to what you receive in those 2 places
It's just a game
Actually it works for both Sky cliffs and for the Pirate shipwreck as well. However, for the Hot springs or coral reef, or the Cave, you are mostly correct. Sending Max people to the Hot springs will get you 100 percent of the time, at least 1 jasmine.
