Most people are playing without issue and there are a number of reasons you might be experiencing problems. I would try restarting your computer and see if that helps.
I have the same problem. The app crashes and the screen goes black. I have cleared my cache and I reboot every day. I am using google chrome and have the flash player thing installed.
