I looked around, and found the quest guide here:
http://forums.zynga.com/showthread.php?1468328

I guess it was moved since it's an "official" guide (from Zynga's own), and not created by the community...

Go to updates and announcements and it is there.

I have been looking here, and also in other sections for the most recent guide, but I cannot find it. Is there one posted? I know Zynga moved them from 'community created guides'...why leave them easy to find, after all? I use them all the time, thanks so much to those who post the guides...especially when rewards and alternative crops are included.

That's unfortunate. My baby playpens are full. Gotta wait another day to harvest. Those special deliveries don't help either as they are only coming up with animal feed these days.

Yeah... the 'baby' elephant has to go in a playpen and all mine are full of the endless foals the game keeps producing, and you can't get playpen parts from SDBs. :(

The image you get is of ordinary peppers, not bell peppers.
    Bell peppers work.
Don't know about the ordinary peppers.

Right now its double mastery so every 1 harvest you get credit for 2 on the mastery level, but only 1 harvest for the quest line. My baby elephant only needed 5, so I only had to harvest him 3 times to get the 1 star.
Also I leave every pen with 1 empty spot and just let the other animals run loose on the farms.
I did open the sharing between farms from home to english to cove to winter and bouncing those animals between pens and farms really helps. Also unless its for a quest I rarely harvest my animal pens.

I planted ghost chilis and they worked for bell peppers.

While the guide does say bell peppers, fire peppers worked for me.
