Safari Error: Unable to open the page, too many redirects.
This usually happens when visiting a page that's been set to open another one, which can be resolved in the following ways:
A.) Blocking pop-ups and disabling website tracking
- Open Settings, scroll down and select Safari. Within the General section, make sure Block Pop-ups is toggled on. Under Privacy & Security, enable Do Not Track and Fraudulent Website Warning.
B.) Blocking cookies
- Click Block Cookies within Safari settings. Set the option to either Always Block or Allow from Websites I Visit, which may prevent redirects as you browse the Web.
Note: Doing so may affect certain websites' functionality. Cookies are used to save login info and customization options, as well as power features such as an e-commerce site's product suggestions.
C.) Clearing history and data
- In some cases, removing related cookies and cache in Safari can resolve repeated redirects.
- Select Details or Advance that appears under the Remove All Website Data button. Go to Website Data, search for the name of the website that you are trying to view (Facebook.com), tap or swipe it from right to left, then click Delete or Removed.
Note: If the issue continues, repeat the steps without searching for a specific website. Click Remove All Website Data to remove all cookies and cache files.
