Unfair expectations!

The recent events have become unbearable, the leaderboard event isn't worth even attempting and I know many of my coop aren't even bothering with it.. The new reindeer tales asks for glitzen sweaters constantly, each sweater requires 2 jackets, that's 6 buttons, with only 2 tin from the mine every 2 hours and 3 sweaters needed across the board so you can continue, and often replaced by same requests, that doesn't include the time it takes to make the other items like jams/wines etc needed to go with it. These events are no longer fun, theres nothing on global since the cloning for 'most' of us was banned so our chances of completing are diminished. Also with multiple events running and small yields of event items its become a chore. New event sewing station only gives event items once every 2 to 3 visits.. why have you made this game so difficult to play Zynga. I understand the need for key sales but you've forgotten the little people that put in the hours, bring in new players and do their best to help and encourage new players to the coops.. Make the game fun again before we lose too many players or finally give in and leave too..

We appreciate your feedback about these types of events, @Gwenwyn. Rest assured your sentiments will be shared with our team for future improvements. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Many players receive 1 tin every 2 hours. Phase 5 reindeer event, a few players have 3 orders showing wanting 1 glass horse (8 quartz) and a teapot (2 quartz). 2 hours collects 2 quartz. 10 quartz =20 hours. No skipping orders. They are not going to be able to finish reindeer event. Not enough hours in the time alloted.

@Bar34 @Gwenwyn the bell tower expires on dec31st so don't waste your time trying to complete. I feel mislead as nowhere did it say all the hard work was going to disappear
  • Rambling RoseRambling Rose Muffin Posts: 1,454Registered User The Boss

Right now the Reindeer event wants 3 glass horses. No skipping. I have 1hr mine but still cant spare the quartz for this.
When they make it this hard it's just off putting.

I agree with the above players, you make the events so hard a person has to play 24/7 or spend a lot of money on keys. I play for pleasure and don’t want to spend money. I quit playing this game for awhile due to that frustration and may again.

Finishing the reindeer event gives 5 bell charges. Then 400 more points crafting, selling, plowing, finding toys gives 2 bell charges. The bell is not unlimited uses. Have to continue event to earn more charges. Our coop has decided not to finish the event.

Just dont play Reindeer event beyond phase four, its ridiculous amts of quartz in particular, u get no coins for your items either n go broke quick. I lost both phases on last leaderboard due to 200% boosters being allowed in for 30 keys a pop now. Most of the events over the last few months have been even more work than before, and players have posted copiously about it even before. The fun has been wrung out of this game for sure with county fair gigantic boosters n cheats, ridiculous number of items for maries board n mariner, and forget events for the most part, doublw timber disappears and reverts back to single timber time and support thinks we dont know the game when you contact re: issues. Its really a shame, we lost most of our original players due to frustrations.

And even if you manage to finish, I suspect there will be some little unmentioned caveat that will make the Bell Tower worthless, like the butler, etc. that were supposed to fetch items. The items came in such small numbers and highly priced, I only used the helpers a few times, and some of those I didn't even bother to buy them!

Yep I feel the same way ... when I first started the reindeer event, it was interesting, different and fun.... got to phase 5 and the fun was sucked right out of the game.
I personally may a choice to stop playing that event, which I never do, and decided I would much rather have the 30 day temporary helper instead, so I’m doing the new event instead.
Happy farming everyone.... let’s hope the new water expansion is not a disappointment too!!

I'm giving up the Reindeer event. I made one glass horse, filled one of the 3 orders asking for them. Managed another order that only needed 3 quartz & now I'm back to needing 3 horses again.
I have the 1 hr mine but still cant keep up. It's too much work & from what I've read above, the bell isn't worth having either.
The Christmas event of a couple of years ago was much more fun. This is just disheartening.

@Rambling Rose oh I know phase 5 was such a disappointment that i made a personal decision that I don’t need that bell, I also have a feeling that those that continue to finish are going to be extremely disappointed with it.

That is crazy im not even on last phase yet. Im working glass horse n empty bottles n jars but asking for too many quartz n tins im barely able to finish it it would been great if gotten 30 days of it but by time im finish prob be like 10 days but i wont be on few days to spend time with family 7 days not worth losing more tins n quartz

I wish I had never gotten it. Complete waste of resources. Especially when the last phase of the event showed up wanting even more tin.

Zynga is a real Scrooge this year. Bah Humbug.

Just finished the 5th phase of the the Gnomes workshop thinking it would be better....NOPE!!! thanks zynga for giving little to no good rewards... Im not finishing the Gnome workshop and thinking I dont really need the helping hand either.....its only temporary so not worth the effort. They removed cloning because "it was cheating" but what about those who zoom up the leaderboards... I know alot of us came in at the start but its gotten to where I am sick of the fact they dont listen to us the players. I have brought in several players and out off all of those only 1 plays because there is little to no rewards in hours of playing only to not get any type of reward... i mean the first few years extra plots, statues and even keys now.... nope ohh look you have a chance at .......NOTHING.

I am 226 toys away from finishing the Reindeer's Tale - and I am seriously considering stopping after all the quartz and tin I have wasted on this event. I am down to 69 candles - by making some more candle sculptures and dollhouses and selling some. I had 90 - that is crazy along with phase 5 of the Elven Holiday - I threw away 80 shaved coconut already and have been constantly selling them - the need for blackberry pies has been ridiculous. Between these two events I am almost ready to throw in the towel with this game!

  • Rambling RoseRambling Rose Muffin Posts: 1,454Registered User The Boss

I'm so glad I gave up the Reindeer event. I'm still doing the other one because although the cat is only temporary I know it will get event items more easily in the next event.
I still think Christmas with no permanent prizes is very mean of Zynga.

  • JenkeyJenkey Forum Traveller Posts: 983Registered User Guru of Mayhem
@Rambling Rose oh gosh I totally stopped that ridiculous reindeer event once I did a few orders on phase 5... no way in my personal opinion is that event worth a 7 day bell and for it to be our Christmas event oh my gosh what an enormous disappointment.
And yes me too I’m sticking with the Elven event at least it’s for 30 days and finds next event items. This year the so called team (developers) totally missed the mark and took all the joy and fun right out of a Christmas Event, so sad.
  • Rambling RoseRambling Rose Muffin Posts: 1,454Registered User The Boss

@Jenkey totally agree. The year when we had the tree which gave presents was the best. I don't know why they don't do that every year. Most of my coop have given up both events so it's gone very quiet on the farm.

  • JenkeyJenkey Forum Traveller Posts: 983Registered User Guru of Mayhem
@Rambling Rose yes loved the tree!
The story book was great which gave us the Elf
Doing the story book at least was a variety and mixture of different Holiday items to craft.

I never managed to get the elf I was too busy last year. I did some of the event & you're right it was more interesting.
I quite like the format of the reindeer event. If it didn't take so much quartz I would have enjoyed it. If there was a decent permanent prize at the end of it that might have made it worth all the effort.

  • JenkeyJenkey Forum Traveller Posts: 983Registered User Guru of Mayhem
@Rambling Rose oh I agree, the concept was great but to just constantly repeat the same glass horse and ship over n over again was ridiculous.
They should have just paired the item with all everyday items and then it would have been more enjoyable.
  • firefighterfanfirefighterfan Posts: 390Registered User Social Snowflake
This game crazy how they expect us to enjoy the game when everyone asking for quartz n tins or even items with tins n quartz struggling doing the gnome game. By time im finish not worth it. Im struggling finding things for the reg event. N struggling chatting cuz jumping keyboard or disappearing n not crashing.

Part of what we are seeing is that the existence of cloning was, until recently, papering over some of the worst insanities of events and generally unrealistically high expectations to finish ANYTHING, whether it be event, mariner, boat races, or even order board.

By dropping the hammer on cloning without resetting unrealistic expectations, Zynga has made the game nearly unplayable (and the events - the only reason many people keep playing - essentially literally unplayable).

And existing bugs in the game? Forget-about-it. The number of times there are scrolling errors trying to go through barn inventories or to put items up to sell is annoying; legitmately trying to sell items to a co-op member (even without cloning) randomly results in those items going missing instead.

And for anyone determined enough to battle through the unresolved, constantly ignored bugs, and excruciating why-am-I-giving-this-alleged-game-the-hours-of-an-actual-job slog of no-fun, there is no reward at the end that even vaguely justifies the effort.

    What is the point?

Seriously? Are people buying thousands of keys just to “progress”? (And why bother? At that point you’re not even playing, just “insert money to get to Phase 5,” then “insert money to get a weak temporary ‘reward’ that wouldn’t be that good even if you were actually playing, never mind that you aren’t since all you are doing is burning keys.”)

If people aren’t dumping money into keys wholesale (rather than simply keyhacking), then Zynga only wins by keeping a large playerbase for ad revenue — but making all aspects of the game unplayable can’t be helping on that count either.

I agree completely Havelock. Current event stage 5, 2 Blackberry pies towards making one kiwi Shortcake. And then an appalling drop rate for French Hens. Zynga, for the umpteenth time, PLEASE MAKE THIS GAME MORE FUN TO PLAY AND NOT KEEP OBSESSING ABOUT MAKING IT MORE "CHALLENGING". And this comes from a level 287 player, who thinks it has gone to the dogs!

  • MyaWoofMyaWoof Posts: 5Registered User Not a Title, but a Star

I just completed my twentieth kiwi shortcake trying to get the last two items needed. 20! We are talking 40 blackberry pies, 160 berries and not one item drop? I have been trying to get the last two to just move on to final and a week later, still cannot complete. 🤨
